Parla! is an online magazine about all things Italian, for all lovers of Italy and Italian culture. Inspired by our years abroad in Italy, we aim to get as many of you involved with Italian culture as possible. We started off as a platform for students at Durham University, under the name Parlatinate (a play on the Durham University student newspaper, Palatinate). However, as our editors have moved on to postgraduate study at other universities, we wanted to expand our reach. Therefore, we have rebranded as Parla! and wish to include anyone, from any higher education institution in our mission. We want to give you the platform to explore the culture of this beautiful country; in short, we are a collection of voices speaking about Italy and the Italian imaginary. So whether you are interested in Italian literature, Italian American history, Italian food or anything in between, this magazine is for you! Our name is the imperative 'parla' (speak up), so if you wish to share your voice with us, get in touch! We'd love to hear from you and we hope you enjoy the magazine!
